AMSwitch partners will official kick-off the project in person on 8-9 September at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. In addition to a consortium meeting only open to project partners, the project will also host a dedicated Workshop on Altermagnets on 8 September 2026.

A fantastic line-up of theorists, materials growers, and characterization experts — exactly the mix of expertise our consortium needs to push altermagnetic spintronics from concept toward functional devices.
Program:
- 9:00 – 9.45: Prof. Jeroen van den Brink, IFW Dresden,
Title: Altermagnets: why are they special? - 9:45 – 10:15: Prof. Thanasis Dimoulas, NCSRD, Greece.
Title: Growth of altermagnet and their heterostructures - 10:15 – 10:45: Coffee break
- 10:45– 11:15: Dr. Evangelos Golias, MaxIV, Lund, Sweden.
Title: Spectromicroscopy of altermagnetism - 11:15– 11:45: Dr. Himanshu Bangar, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
Title: Altermagnetic Spintronics - 13:15 – 13:45: Dr. Oleg Janson,
Title: Altermagnetism from first-principles calculations - 13:45 – 14:15: Dr. Manuel Valvidares
Title: Altermagnets characterization with synchrotron light - 14:15 – 14:45: Dr. Gabriel Puebla Hellmann, QZabre Ltd
Title: Quantum Scanning Microscopy - 14:45 – 15:15: Coffee break and end of the workshop
Following the workshop, AMSwitch will hold its first General Assembly meeting. On 9 September, the consortium will meet to provide updates on progress and plan for the coming year.
